Bay Area Somatic Therapy Center
Trauma-informed • Body-based • Community care
About us
Bay Area Somatic Therapy Center is a nonprofit organization created by a group of community members committed to ethical care, economic accessibility, and somatic integrity. We believe body-based therapy should be accessible, relational, and rooted in dignity. Our model is designed to hold both sustainability and generosity: offering high-quality somatic psychotherapy while expanding affordable group spaces.
In the times we are living in, marked by rapid change, uncertainty, and collective stress, there is a growing need for mind–body integration and nervous system support within our communities.
Our mission
We are committed to cultivating a model of care that honors both individual healing and collective wellbeing. Our work centers on compassion, education, and community, recognizing that nervous systems heal in relationship and that access to care is part of social healing.

Our values
Clinical integrity
We are committed to somatically grounded, trauma-informed care that is ethical, relational, and paced with deep respect for each nervous system.
Training + mentorship
We are growing into a place that supports emerging clinicians through mentorship, education (especially in somatic group work), and sustainable training pathways that protect wellbeing and foster long-term growth rooted in care.
Accessibility + sustainability
We are committed to expanding access to high-quality care while maintaining organizational sustainability. Our model supports equitable services, ethical compensation, and long-term clinical excellence.
Community care
Healing happens in relationship. We invest in group work, collaboration, and collective spaces that support connection, belonging, and shared resilience.
